Coats of Arms.
Very few families have a coat of arms. Arms, and the right to bear them, are granted to individuals and not to families or names. Geat care needs to be exercised when identifying with a particular coat of arms. The origin of many modern surnames is far from clear and bearers of a surname today may not have even the remotest relationship to the original bearer of the arms associated with it. To validate your coat of arms, you should contact the heradic authority where the arms were granted.
